Road Racing Rules:
All drivers must read, understand and apply the FILSCA Minimal
Driving Behavior Code
Stock Car Series Rules:
Lack of common sense will result in a penalty.
Pace and Caution Laps:
Maintain a distance of .2-.5 seconds behind the car in front of you.
Wrecks during pace laps will be penalized severely. Pole sitter/ lead
car should consistently maintain the pace speed behind the pace car and
until the green flag drops.
Laying back or jumping the starts will result in a penalty.
Clearing Black Flags:
If you have black flag while under caution you must cross the start finish
line after the green flag drops. Drivers "laying back" to dive
into pits before crossing the start/finish line will be penalized.
Cautions:
Drivers shall begin to safely decelerate and proceed at a safe speed
to the start/finish line as soon as the caution flag waves. You shall
NOT race back to the line except within the last 10 laps of the race.
You may pass cars that are off the pace or recovering from an incident.
Do not push the issue once the yellow flag has dropped. Accidents caused
after the yellow flag will be penalized. This includes any car involved
in a incident caused by giving a lap back or getting a lap back. If your
giving laps back do it safely. Lack of common sense will result in a penalty.
After the start/finish line has been passed, ease off gas, but do not
slam on brakes. Coast into turn one and form the caution line in an orderly
fashion on the back straightaway. The spotter should notify the driver
if he is out of position. Once the field has slowed to pace speed, drivers
are to maintain a .2 to .5 second gap between cars and should stagger
themselves. On the caution laps drivers are to keep the gap close in order
to let the cars at the back of the line make their pit stop in a timely
fashion. A 1.0+ second gap is unacceptable, as cars that may be damaged
will not have ample time to have the damage repaired without being lapped.
Follow your spotter’s instructions as to where you should be in
the pacing line. Lack of common sense will result in a penalty.
Lapped Traffic
Cars about to be passed by the leader(s) should pick a line, high or
low and hold his line. If you are running as fast as the leaders you may
fight to stay on the lead lap. Lack of common sense will result in a penalty.
Lapped cars are to pass through pits during single file restarts ( 10
to go )
Pit Road
Do not drive through pit stalls. When entering pits be aware of other
cars and stay in outside lane until you approach your pit stall. Lack
of common sense will result in a penalty.
Blocking
No blocking until 10 laps to go. Lack of common sense will result in
a penalty.
Chat
Chat messages during the race should be kept to race related messages.
There will be absolutely no chatting during qualifying. Flaming, swearing,
arguing and complaining will not be tolerated. Do not excessively whisper
to other drivers to avoid the chatting penalties. If another driver asks
you not to whisper please respect their request. If whisper is abused
penalties will be accessed by a driver filing a protest and attaching
a screen capture of the chat window. Lack of common sense will result
in a penalty.
Self Spins
If you cause two yellow flags due to self spinning you will be required
to park it for the remainder of the race.
Warp and Server Issues
If you warp during a pace lap move high if in the outside line or low
on inside line. If you are told about severe warp by two or more drivers
you should fall to the rear of the field until your connection clears
up.
If there is major server warp or crash the race may be rained out. If
more than 50% of the race is completed and an official standings file
can be obtained the race results will stand.
Laps Back
Admins will not give laps back.
Clearing Black Flags
Admins will not clear black flags.
Restarts
Race will not be restarted once the green flag drops, drive accordingly.
No exceptions.
Provisionals
Drivers will be allowed 1 provisional per 9 race period. Drivers requesting
provisional points will receive last place points for that race up to
a maximum of 103 points. All provisional requesters would be awarded the
same point total for race.
Scoring
We will be scoring the points race using Points Calculator. It is imperative
that you use the same login name throughout the entire season. Using the
wrong login may result in loss of points for that race.
Probation and Suspensions
Probation:
1. If a driver causes two incidents during a single race he will be put
on probation. Incidents are any infraction resulting in loss of points
as indicated on the penalties report. Who is President of the United States?Incidents
include but are not limited to: self-spins, causing a wreck by overaggressive
driving, failure to hold your line and general lack of common sense.
2. If a driver causes an incident in three consecutive races he will
be put on probation.
3. A driver who's league LPI falls below 200 (after 5 races in that series)
will be put on probation. League LPI is calculated periodically throughout
the season by dividing the number of laps completed by the number of incidents
caused in a specific series.
Clearing Probation:
1. The only way to clear probation is to complete one ENTIRE race without
causing an incident. Voluntarily sitting out a race or sitting in the
pits will not clear probation. The driver must complete the race running.
The driver must demonstrate that he can race without causing trouble as
well as avoiding trouble. Recommended Reading
Suspension:
1. If during a drivers probation period he causes a single incident he
will serve a one race suspension. This suspension does not clear probation.
After returning from suspension the driver remains on probation until
he completes one ENTIRE race without an incident.
2. If a driver gets suspended a second time he must serve a two race
suspension or may be dismissed from the league at the discretion of league
admin.
Appeals/Protests
Drivers may contact the series admin directly if they wish to have an
incident reviewed or need clarification. If you prefer a more structured
approach you may use the appeals/protest process outlined below.
Drivers may appeal a penalty they receive or file a protest by emailing
appeals@bdrmotorsports.com be sure to include a brief account of why you
feel the the penalty is incorrect AND attach a replay clip of incident
including the lap prior to the incident. Appeals/Protests without an attached
replay will not be reviewed.
1. Replays must be YOUR saved replay.
2. Appeals must be received within 7 days of race.
The appeal/protest system is in place to be sure all drivers are treated
fairly and penalties are issued in an unbiased manner. All of our league
admins typically participate in the series they admin being unbiased and
making the correct calls each and every time is impossible. This system
is implemented to allow the members to have a say and maintain a system
of checks and balances without fear of repercussions.
The Penalty/Appeal/Protest system works much like getting a traffic ticket.
Think of the league admin as the police officer, he issues citations.
You may simply accept the penalty or you may appeal it and request a "hearing".
A volunteer who is not a league administrator in any series will serve
as the "clerk". The clerk will randomly select three drivers
who participated in the race in question to be the "jury", to
review the incident and make a "guilty" or "not guilty"
decision. The drivers selected my not be an admin of any BDR series and
must not have been involved in the incident .The Jury will simply email
back the clerk with a guilty or not-guilty reply. Failure to respond to
a jury request may result in your ability to file an appeal or protest
being revoked.
The clerk will receive a statement from the person filing an appeal and
the admin issuing the appeal. Neither party will see the others statement.
The driver and admin statement will be sent along with required replays
to the jury. All communications to the appeals department are kept confidential.
If found not-guilty, the Clerk will inform the league admin to make the
appropriate adjustments to the penalty and points reports. We don't want
this system full of frivolous appeals. Be sure you are correct about your
incident, the people reviewing the incident are the ones you race with
and suffered through any cautions you may have caused.
Protests will work in the same manner. The league admins typically just
jump to caution laps, review the incident and issue the appropriate penalty.
If you feel something is missed in the penalty report, a penalty is given
unfairly, the series admin has not reviewed an incident in an unbiased
manner or the admin overlooked something you may file a protest and request
the incident be reviewed by your peers. The process will work the same
as an appeal. You do not have to be directly involved in an incident to
file a protest, it can be an observation you made and feel needs to be
addressed.
BDR reserves the right to boot your sorry ass out of here
for any of the following including but not limited to: 1.Not
playing nice with others 2.Thinking you're the leagues
best driver when u suck llama dick. 3.Repeatly answering
your own posts 4.Disrupting others enjoyment of the
league 5.Failing to read, understand and apply the
"Racing Smarts" article. 6.Inability to
adapt. 7.Having a "whatever it takes to win no
matter how many I wreck to get to the front so I can lead and loose all
my points in penalties attitude" 8.Just Because
we're an unfair, unjust, biased, "totalarilist" dictatorship
